Peach Dump Cake From Scratch

I finally found a dump cake recipe made from scratch. I rarely buy cake mixes. I would much rather make it all myself. Im constantly making brownies and breads from scratch and once in a while crave a dump cake, but dont want to use a store bought cake mix to accomplish it. I found this great dump cake recipe from simply recipes. Its super easy to make. Doesnt take much longer then opening a store bought mix either. Plus, you’ll probably already have everything on hand. You could make this recipe with blueberries, apples strawberries etc; or whatever else you have on hand or feel like at the moment would suffice.

Peach Dump Cake from Scratch Recipe

Prep time: 15 minutes
Cook time: 35 minutes
Yield: About 12 servings

INGREDIENTS

For the fruit:

·3 pounds fresh or frozen fruit. I used peaches this time.
·1/2 cup sugar,
·2 1/2 Tbsp cornstarch or flour
·1/8 tsp salt

For the cake:

·1 cup sugar
·1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
·1 tsp baking powder
·1/4 tsp salt
·3/4 cup melted butter

Directions:

·Preheat the oven to 375°F.

·2 Mix the fruit, sugar, cornstarch or flour, and salt altogether. Then, spread evenly into a lightly greased 9x13in baking dish.

·Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the top of the fruit. Next, drizzle the melted butter on top of the cake

·Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the fruit is bubbling through the center and the top is golden (frozen fruit might take an extra 10 minutes or so). If you notice dry spots of flour toward the end of cooking, push them down into the fruit with a spoon so they cook.

·Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Cake can be covered and refrigerated for 5 days.
